Your first day of college will be A) exciting B) intimidating C) fun or D) just like another day at high school. The answer is all of the above. You are about to embark upon a new experience that will change your life. For many students, this will be the first time away from home for an extended period of time. You will be responsible for so much more than in your previous life. Without the supervision of your parents or guardian, you will need to get to class on time, finish your homework, eat healthy, do your laundry and find time to participate in other activities such as a college sport, a club, a job or just hanging around with friends. Embrace this independence. You have worked hard to get this far. Now all you have to do is apply the same techniques in college that you used to succeed in high school. The number of hours you spend in a class room may decrease but the hours you devote to studying will increase. Stay organized. Attend all your classes. Do your homework. Remember, you want to get the most for your tuition dollars. Read through some of the articles below for more hints and tips.
